Hi Ignacio,
Many thanks for your comment. The management of an aging population is certainly a universal challenge, as you have clearly articulated here regarding the Spanish situation.

Thanks for your thoughtful comments and remarks. Very interesting.
Have a great day.

Hi Rob,

Long time without writing to you though I keep on listening to you.

Nevertheless, getting old in Spain is also a challenge for the State and for the families. My parents died quite young (72 and 68) but I have close relatives who last year had to go to a "residencia"(a place where a equipment of professionals take care of them. The prices are quite high, though it depends of the incomes of the residents as it´s a public residence. The privates ones are much more expensive and a regular family can´t afford it. My relatives pay 3.000€/month for both of them.
Spain is one of the countries in the world with the lowest natality index, Just 1,32 children for each woman(1,38 in Italy, 1,40 in Germany, 1,92 in Australia) which means that the ageing is a growing problem and that the spanish politicians don´t take it as seriouly as it deserves.

Congratulations for your generous volunteering.

And thanks for this podcast serie.

Hi Lina,
Many thanks for your comment. I am pleased my podcast is useful for you. I seem to have quite a few listeners in Australia. But I guess this is no surprise. After all, we are a nation of immigrants and this helps make our country such a great place to live.
Have a great day.
Cheers,
Rob

Hi Ray,
Many thanks for your kind words. This topic is close to my heart given my recent experience and it was great to see the new myagedcare website in place for reference.
Cheers,
