Hi Dep,
Many thanks for your detailed comment. Yes, Darwin is an interesting city which I have not yet visited. Its history is indeed unique in Australian terms, given its bombing in World War 2. It also has an interesting multicultural aspect which is different to the other main capital cities in Australia. I will keep it in mind for a separate podcast in the future.

Hi Rob,
After watching this podcast, I got to know a little about Darwin and I was deeply attracted by the city. I have a preliminary understanding that the city has a lot of uniqueness for Australia. First, it’s a city dominated by indigenous people, so it probably has a very long history. Second, it is a rare city with equatorial maritime climate in Australia. Climate factors determine the uniqueness of its urban architecture, human landscape and people’s lifestyle. And finally, it is a city must be with many interesting stories I think. In addition to being hit by a powerful cyclone on Christmas Day 1974, which the podcast detailed, it lived through the 19th century gold rush, and it was an important Allied military base during World War II, and was the only Australian city bombed by Japanese air raids during this period. So it would be nice if you could separately podcast the history and humanities I mentioned above. Looking forward to your inspiring podcast!

Many thanks for your comment. Nice to know that you find them useful. Hope you are safe during the pandemic. We are in full lockdown here in Melbourne after a big increase in our case numbers, so I guess in the not too distant future I will need to do another podcast about the pandemic. It’s a tough time, but we will get through it.
