Hi Dep,
Many thanks for your comment. Yes, it is true that the koala is a symbol of Australia, along with the kangaroo, the platypus and the emu. Our unique wildlife gives us plenty of options as symbols. I think my favourite is the kangaroo, although they are all unique and interesting.

Is the title of this podcast ‘Australia’s Koalas’ real meaning the koala – a symbol of Australia? There was a deeply moving part of the podcast which about the story of a firefighter and Sam. Thank you for making koalas so lovely and appealing.

Many thanks for kind comments. Koalas are very cute, but it is true that they tend to have quite a strong smell. In particular the adult males have the strongest smell. It is not such a terrible smell however, just quite distinct.

The podcast is very kind and interesting as usual! Frankly speaking I would like to be a koala 😉 My friend was in the zoo and had an opportunity to hold koala on his hands. He told that it smells not good. is it true? Thank you Rob for your useful work!
